Today HTC has launched two brand new phones that push the whole industry forward on design and screen resolution – they are the HTC One S and HTC One X. Although these two names may get mixed up when someone is talking about them fast, they are two distinct phones. Both of them seem to take aim at the Galaxy Nexus, the current reigning Android phone powerhouse. The question is do you want the One X’s amazing display or the One S’s ultra thin body?
Here are the pros and cons of each.
HTC One S
Pros:
- Extremely thin design
- Amazingly fast speeds – sets new level of performance
- The best image software suite you’ll find on a phone
- Microarc oxidation on black phones phones (used on satellites to protect them while they plunge into earth)
Cons:
- Uses Pentile AMOLED RGBG display – not as crisp, adds greens unnecessarily
- The HTC Sense 4 OS skin holds back Ice Cream Sanwich
- Beat Audio doesn’t add much value to phone
HTC One X
Pros:
- One of the best designed phone designs ever
- Getting through a day with the battery is no problem
- Best display on a phone ever
- LCD not AMOLED screen – no problem in direct sunlight
Cons:
- 4.7 inch screen may be to large for some
- Sense 4 does not improve on Ice Cream Sandwich
- Camera and video quality just average
